The Ford Model A

The Shop

Welcome to the artomobile Shop!

All designs are hand painted. The use of monochromatic colours and simple graphic representation give it the signature look for which the artist is known. Important to keep in mind is that all images are hand painted and no two paintings are alike in color. They are all delivered in a round post pack protected with acid free paper. At this stage, framed paintings can only be delivered within Singapore.

The Ford Model A

The Ford Model A was the second huge success for the Ford Motor Company, after its predecessor, the Model T. Henry Ford wanted to make a refined model and so was born the Model A and was referred to as Henry’s lady – a notion which was captured by Irving Kaufman in his song ‘Henry's Made a Lady Out Of Lizzie’, in reference to the Model T or ‘Tin Lizzie’. It was this song which caused the initial frenzy of buyers when the car was first released in December, 1927.

An icon of the era, it was very common and well adopted with over 4.8 million being produced in only a matter of years. With new sporty body-styling, it was the first Ford to have controls ‘modern’ standards such as gas pedals and a conventional gear-shift lever, which had previously been missing in earlier Ford ‘horseless carriages’ like the Model T.

Styled to look like ‘a baby Lincoln’, the Model A was actually offered in an array of colours, in stark contrast to the black Model T. The Model A undoubtedly brought some serious class and finesse to the early American automotive scene.
